2015 Draft Pick Series: Andre Davis

Andre Davis was selected by the Royals in the 8th round (249th pick overall) of the 2015 MLB Draft yesterday out of the University of Arkansas at Pine  Bluff. A 6-6, 225 pound left handed pitcher, Davis was a 2015 First Team All-Southwestern Athletic Conference performer based on his work at first base (.364/6/39) and out of the bullpen (2-2, 2.28, 35 K/27.2 IP). 2015 Draft Pick Series: Anderson Miller

Anderson Miller was selected by the Royals in the 3rd round (98th pick overall) of the 2015 MLB Draft yesterday out of Western Kentucky University. The 6-3 lefty center fielder hit leadoff for WKU this season and was named a First-Team All-Conference selection after being at or near the top of the league in many categories, including home runs (12), walks (41) and on-base percentage (.419). Miller joined Dave O less than 24 hours after being selected to introduce himself to Royals Nation and talk about his excitement over joining the KC organization, potentially hitting up Trevor Vance to become a grounds crew intern, how an injury his freshman year of college ended up being a blessing and lots more! 2015 Draft Pick Series: Joey Markus

Joey Markus was selected by the Royals in the 9th round (279th pick overall) of the 2015 MLB Draft yesterday out of Indian River State College (Fort Pierce, Florida). A 6-6, 230 pound southpaw, Markus is originally from DeLand, Florida and didn’t begin pitching until the last two years. Joey is beyond excited to become a Royal and recently joined Dave O to talk about the craziness of the last 24 hours – including no sleep – how the Royals first found him, how they’ve been his favorite team even before they drafted him and much more! Malcom Culver

Malcom Culver was drafted by the Royals in the 8th round of the 2008 June Amateur Draft and chose to sign with Kansas City over playing football and baseball at San Diego State. The winner of the Mike Sweeney Award this year, Culver has twice represented the Royals in the Arizona Fall League (2012 and 2013) and currently pitches for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals after trying his hand as an infielder in the Royals system from 2008-2010. Aaron Brooks

Aaron Brooks has pitched in Kansas City during each of the past two seasons and brings to KC a resume that includes being “Pitcher of the Year” two times during his minor league stints (Omaha, 2014; Northwest Arkansas, 2013). A 9th round selection of the Royals in the 2011 June Amateur Draft, Brooks is known for his ability to eat innings while possessing pinpoint control. He recently joined Dave O to talk about how “pitching with conviction” has taken his career to the next level throughout the last year, how he handled and got over the heart break last season in his start at Toronto, how good it felt rebounding against the Yankees on Saturday and lots more, including a detailed look at his growth from high school to today! Andrew Edwards

Andrew Edwards was selected by the Royals in the 19th round of the 2013 June Amateur Draft out of Western Kentucky University. A 6-6 right hander, Edwards has spent the past two summers pitching for Burlington, Lexington and Wilmington, where he begins the 2015 campaign. He recently joined Dave O to talk about his sudden increase in velocity after working out with Sean Manaea and Tripp Davis, the bus trip with Lexington that turned into the worst night of his life, his favorite current pitcher to watch (who is in KC) and lots more! Dominique Taylor

Dominique Taylor was a 15th round selection of the Royals in the 2013 June Amateur Draft out of UC Irvine. A 6-1 outfielder with multiple plus tools, Taylor has begun his minor league career by hitting over .300 at both of his first two stops, including an appearance in the 2014 Sally League All-Star game (where he was the MVP). Taylor recently joined Dave O to talk about many of his Wilmington teammates, the game he and his Father would play growing up that helped him sharpen his baseball skills, the old school rap Dave O found from Taylor online, the cool story of how he met his girlfriend and lots more! Jorge Bonifacio

Jorge Bonifacio heads into the 2015 season as a Northwest Arkansas Natural and a consensus Top 10 Royals Prospect (#9 Baseball America, #10 Baseball Prospectus). Still just 21 years of age, the right fielder was originally signed by the Royals as a non-drafted free agent in December of 2009 out of the Dominican Republic, and is the younger brother of former Royal and current White Sox player Emilio Bonifacio. Jorge recently joined Dave O to talk about how close he is with Emilio, how fellow Royals minor leaguer Jack Lopez helped him learn English, what he wants to improve on most this year and much, much more! Ethan Chapman

Ethan Chapman was drafted by the Royals in the 30th round of the 2012 June Amateur Draft out of Cal State San Bernardino, where he was a teammate of fellow Royal Aaron Brooks. A left handed hitting speedy outfielder, Chapman has steadily moved up the Royals ranks after being named the 2012 Idaho Falls Player of the Year. Ethan is currently with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals and recently joined Dave O to talk about growing up an Angels fan, meeting Rex Hudler in his younger years, the honor of being drafted by KC, the funny time he and his Idaho Falls teammates had their hotel reservations lost and ended up in a seedy situation and lots more! Alec Mills

Alec Mills was drafted by the Royals in the 22nd round of the 2012 June Amateur Draft out of the University of Tennessee-Martin, where he finished 5th in career appearances and strikeouts. A 6-4 righty and 23-year old starting pitcher, Mills will begin 2015 in Wilmington after finishing with a combined 2.35 ERA last season between Idaho Falls and Lexington.  Alec recently joined Dave O to talk about how he never planned to even play college baseball, the exciting story of how he found out he’d been drafted, going through Tommy John Surgery and much more!
