The Royals selected lefty slugger Ryan O’Hearn with their 8th round selection in the 2014 Draft and when you look at his numbers, it’s easy to see why. O’Hearn, a former second team High School All-American by Baseball America, finished his junior season at Sam Houston State with a mark of .292/.348/.451/.799 to go along with 8 home runs, and it’s widely believed within baseball circles that the best power is yet to come. O’Hearn was one of two Bearkats KC selected in this year’s draft (Corey Toups being the other, and also interviewed here on Clubhouse Conversation) and recently joined Dave O to discuss his amateur prowess with the guitar, where he spent draft day, the excitement of becoming a Royal and much more!
