Ken Phelps

Ken Phelps was drafted by the Royals in the 15th round of the 1976 Draft and played for Kansas City from 1980-1981. A power hitting left handed 1B/DH, Phelps then played for the Expos, Mariners, Yankees, Athletics and Indians, combining to hit 123 MLB HR’s and slashing .374/.480/.854. To this day, “Digger” is the fastest AL player to ever reach 100 home runs (1322 at-bats). He recently joined Dave O to talk about being drafted and coming up with the Royals, Bill James recognizing him as EXTREMELY underrated and undervalued, what it was like being mentioned on an episode of Seinfeld and lots more! 1. This guy never looked like a ball player. LOL I have a ton of his cards. I really liked this interview. I love all the random dudes you guys bring up. Seems like a really down to earth guy.
